Occurrence
- Every AML rule is a logical statement that describes a certain violation
- Each time such a single violation is found, the system considers this as an occurrence
Recurrence
- Number of occurrences of the monitored scenario over a specified period
- Most rules trigger an alert with only one occurrence of a violation
- Some rules trigger an alert only if a number of occurrences appeared within a specified look-back period (recurrence period)
- For example: 3 occurrence over last 14 days
- Typically the number of occurrences affects the score
